MyFirstMillion released a funny Q&A episode.
If you don’t listen to this show, it’s an entertaining business podcast hosted by Sam Parr and Shaan Puri.
The question from the audience was, “What does enough look like for you?”
Sam’s View
“Pretty simple, you adapt to your environment. You made the amount you wanted, then you go back to your old habits.”
Aka, never enough. I think it’s because net worth isn’t tangible. Over time, more of it doesn’t feel much different but we’re wired to hustle for the next bag.
Is the real power of enough the ability to step outside our bubble? Focus on maximizing our choices, instead of net worth? (Taken from Die With Zero)
Do you have the control to live independently of the next guy with 2x? That’s tough.
Shaan’s View
Shaan is the other host.
“If I felt like I had enough, what would I do all day? What are things I’d do where the reward is the act of doing them?”
Retirement has a weird stigma attached to it of “not doing anything”. Maybe our first step during post-exit life is reframing retirement into what Naval said:
If you’ve successfully left the rat race, cheers to you 🥂 Hope the rest of us can meet you there.
